I am a San Francisco Bay Area artist currently pursuing my studies at Sonoma State University. My creative journey began with a profound fascination for the narrative and visual power of animated film and video games, evolving into a versatile practice that bridges the physical and digital worlds. Whether working with tactile materials like cardboard and tape or advanced digital suites, I am driven by the process of transformation and construction.
The theory and ideas in my work surround the expansive and vast definition of what representation is. I often think of how far the human brain can go and what directions it can take when shown an abstract image versus a well-rendered, lifelike scene. My work seeks to recontextualise and rework the mind in order to unpack human similarities and differences as well as explore the line of representation of the real. The types of mediums I practice span the history of photography, from photograms to 3D rendered photography My main influences are artists such as Ray Man, Anna Atkins, Yves Tanguy, and René Magritte, many of whom utilize the same mediums I use. These artists question the bounds of reality and push the edges of real life into the surreal. The utilization of technology and technological advancements surrounding their works inspires me to experiment with the same mediums and perspectives to capture new ways of seeing or different universes or realities.
